Overview of the Zues Arc GT3

I was sent the Zues Arc GT3 to review, and I was excited to try it, unfortunately I found many flaws with the design of this unit. My two main issues with this unit are the price- which is around $300 (I personally don't think is justified), and the temperature control.

The Zeus Arc GT3 is sleek, small and compact. However I found the flavour to be just okay as there's not much of a vapor path to cool the vapor to give you better flavour, even when you use the pods. They claim a patented "Goldsink Technology" for their mouthpiece to help with flavour however I was a bit underwhelmed. What I do like is how many times you can reheat the bowl without it tasting gross, I can usually get three sessions out of it. The flower bakes evenly and is easy to remove from the bowl once you've used up the flower.

This unit comes with an Xtruder (in the Electric kit) which is big and bulky and takes a lot longer than it should to fill one small pod. The pods are not reusable so they're not exactly environmentally friendly. I found there's not much of a difference in flavour using the pods, and the amount of time you'd have to spend to fill up a few pods is simply not worth the time and energy, when you can simply load the flower directly into the chamber.

Zeus arc tool

There's a tool attached to the bottom of the unit you can use to remove flower from the chamber or tap it down for a firmer pack when loading the ground cannabis. The tool is useful but it covers the charging port, not a big deal but another flaw I've found in the design of this unit.

The Zeus Arc GT3 has one button control you use to change the temperature and check the battery. To check how much battery is left you shake the unit and the three lines on the side will change to red to show you if you're at one, two or three lines- which is fully charged. The unit will also flash white lines when it's cooling, it does this when the unit is left inactive for 45 seconds.

Really bad temperature control

zues arc app

Zeus Arc GT3 has the worst temperature control I've ever seen. It comes with three preset temperatures of 205°C (401F) | 215°C (419F) | 225°C (437F) all very high temperatures! If you want to change the temperatures you need to hook it up to your PC computer (it's not compatible with Mac) and then it brings up an app with a few different temperature options you can upload to the device.

I really can't wrap my head around how they thought this was a good design? This alone makes it not worth the price tag as many of you may not even own a PC, so you'll be stuck with way too high temperatures and no way to customize your experience.
Even the cheapest vaporizers offer a wide rage for temperature presets so you have the option for a low temperature. Most dry herb vaporizers come with the ability to set the device to the exact temperature you want, and that's how it should be.

Conclusion

Zeus Arc GT3 could be a good dry herb vaporizer if they didn't have so many design flaws like the lack of good temperature control and the unit gets quite hot. Most small vaporizers get hot and don't taste great, as is the case with the Zeus Art GT3. Although the taste is better than some units, I compare it to a device like The Crafty + by Storz & Bickel which is in the same price range. The Zeus Arc GT3 simply can't compare.

The gold plating they've added to this unit doesn't justify the high price, in my opinion. Many other dry herb vaporizers on the market have great flavour without it. Even if the Zeus Arc GT3 was half the price I still wouldn't recommend it for the temperature control alone. Hopefully this company takes the feedback from customers on the design in the future, as I do feel this unit has some promise if they worked on the design flaws. Overall, I can't recommend the Zeus Arc GT3.
