I'm in love with this brand Chuz! These salted caramels are tasty. They are softer so they won't pull out your dentistry and they're a sweet caramel but more adult tasting than like a kids caramel. They are a bit grainy with the salted texture however the salt cuts the sweet so it has a good flavour.

They company says they're handcrafted by a dessert and confectionary chef in the Canadian Rockies, and they taste like a high end caramel.

You can eat the caramels as they are or you can melt them into a coffee or hot chocolate for a wonderful way to enjoy your morning brew. I took an infused apple cider workshop with The Nomad Cook and Simply Bare Organics last fall, and one of the recipes was for a caramel apple cider. It was so good and I highly recommend making an apple cider with these caramels.

They come in two individual plastic containers, personally I'm not a fan of the extra packaging/waste however they can be repurposed. For example you could store some vitamins or painkillers in there for your handbag or travelling.

I highly recommend these caramels if you're looking for something different other than the usual gummies.

Did you try this product, what did you think?

  1. Great review weed mama! We are so happy you enjoyed both the products you tried.

The concept behind the little plastic containers was mobility. Imagine going to a concert and eating one caramel before going in, and saving the second one until later. The container makes it easy to take the caramel in your pocket, and not have it squished and melted.

The other issue was leaving them in a vehicle. We own the legends chocolate brand as well, and there is nothing worse than trying to scrape the chocolate off the inside of a wrapper after your edible sits in a hot vehicle . So we thought, put the caramels in a container. If they do melt, just pop the container in the fridge, and easily pull the caramel out and enjoy it again.

Our research found that these edibles get carried around in purses, pockets, and vehicles. Unlike normal candy where people just sit down and eat it all at once. So when we did our product development we tried to accommodate that.

We also found if we wrapped them in plastic film, people would just pull it off and throw it on the ground or a landfill. Our research indicated that the majority of users would recycle or re-use the plastic container. So this approach seemed more environmentally conscious than just creating more garbage.

I hope this helps provide some context for what we did, it was honestly with the purest intentions. Thanks again, for the great review. Stay safe!

  2. Hi. We agree that this caramel is a superior edible. We first purchased it from licenced shops in Kingston, ON, but had to switch to online purchases from the OCS because the retail outlets could not get stock from the OCS. Now, the OCS website has stated for over one month that it is out of stock. We have had to switch to Olli caramelts of late, but those, too, have disappeared from the retail shops here. Does anyone have any insight as to why Kingston, ON — and maybe all of ON — has become a Salted Double Caramel desert as of Feb. 13, 2024?
