Dry herb vaporizer Utillian
Dry herb vaporizing is good for controlling your dose. This is the Utillian 620.

When I talk about velvet vagina, usually I get “oh? do tell!” Here’s the thing, years ago I was suffering from painful sex after birthing two children and all the exhaustion and anxiety that comes with being a parent. Sex was something that became a thing that used to be fun. I still wanted to have sex but it became painful, you start to psyche yourself out from trying because you’re worried it will hurt. Plus it’s more than just the physical discomfort, you feel inadequate and the anxiety around it makes the experience even worse.

Cannabis rescued my orgasms!

My husband reintroduced me to cannabis by dry herb vaporizing medical marijuana. I used a low THC strain on a low setting and I didn’t feel at all high. I also didn’t feel anxious so we had sex and guess what? It made my vagina feel like velvet, really and truly, my insides felt like soft velvet and the pain was gone. I was excited I had found something that worked!

Cannabis works like an aphrodisiac, it increases desire, heightens your senses and makes everything a much more inviting, sensual experience. Something that’s perfect for sex. It makes you slow down and appreciate the moment, most importantly, it helps you relax.

Start low and go slow with cannabis

If you do too much it can makes things worse. You can feel jittery and not want to be touched or it can give you “couch lock” where you feel really sleepy and well, nobody wants sex when they’re feeling dozy. I recommend trying out a few different types before you have sex, to see which cannabis product will give you the desired effect.

The dose matters, taking in a small dose is best, you don’t need much and it’s easier to control with a dry herb vaporizer. Set the vaporizer to a lower temperature, around 180c/356F as this is the boiling point for CBD, then only take one draw and wait about 15 minutes to see how it makes you feel. Take more as needed. You’re aiming to feel a sense of calm and presence with a slight elevation, this is easily achieved if you are mindful of how much you’re inhaling.

A word of caution if you choose edibles

For some, this is the easiest and most accessible way to experience cannabis. However, be aware that it takes a full 2 hours to really feel the effects so don’t take more thinking you didn’t take enough and don’t feel it, you need to wait the full 2 hours. If you did take too much it will take longer for the THC to wear off, could be a couple of hours or more. This is why I recommend vaporizing cannabis to start, it’s gentler on the lungs, doesn’t last as long and it’s the easiest method to control your dose.

If you do choose to ingest cannabis, go for around 5mg to start. You may feel nothing or that may be too strong, so many factors determine if that’s the case like how you’re feeling and where you’re at in your cycle. Certain times of the month, around menstruation, we are more sensitive to the effects of THC. I recommend taking CBD with THC to balance the effects, CBD is great for minimizing the side effects of THC.

New to the market is fast-acting edibles. They bypass the liver and go straight to the bloodstream so you experience a high similar to smoking or vaping cannabis. The onset is 5 to 15 minutes and the duration is around an hour or so. Fast-acting edibles also feel lighter than regular edibles, so you’ll get a lighter experience. This is a better method for anyone new to cannabis who wants to try edibles.

Don’t want to get high?

If you’re interested in the health benefits of cannabis without the high I recommend using infused lubes and CBD. Ingesting CBD will help to relax you, it’s excellent for treating anxiety. Its also anti-inflammatory which helps reduce pain. Using an infused lube might help with painful sex.
